Home Improvement Grants Available

Peoples State Bank, Summit "Member FDIC" an Equal Housing Lender and GROW South Dakota are currently implementing an Affordable Housing Program for home improvements. The $487,500 grant award was made possible with funding from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines.
The funds will be used to rehabilitate 75 income eligible owner-occupied housing units in the following counties; Aurora, Beadle, Bon Homme, Brookings, Brown, Brule, Buffalo, Buffalo, Campbell, Charles Mix, Clark, Clay, Codington, Davison, Day, Deuel, Douglas, Edmunds, Faulk, Grant, Gregory, Hamlin, Hand, Hanson, Hughes, Hutchinson, Hyde, Jerauld, Jones, Kingsbury, Lake, Lincoln, Lyman, Marshall, McCook, McPherson, Mellette, Miner, Minnehaha (in the non-MSA area), Moody, Potter, Roberts, Sanborn, Spink, Stanley, Sully, Todd, Tripp, Turner, Union, Walworth, Yankton.
Homes served under this project will be required to be single family owner-occupied residences. The home must be the eligible applicant’s primary residence. Rental properties, contract for deed and mobile homes will not be eligible for the program.
The Affordable Housing Program encourages essential partnerships among financial institutions, community development organizations and the Federal Home Loan Bank to promote affordable housing for income eligible families.
