Creating a Fresh Start

Monday, December 01, 2014

Eileen and Clinton Ellingson reached out to GROW South Dakota in August, 2014, after they had lost their home to a fire. Knowing that they wanted to rebuild in the same spot where their home previously stood, securing financing would be the next option. Even though they were able to secure financing at their local credit union, they were unable to receive all of the financing required from their primary lender. The GROW staff was able to assist with the remaining financing to help them achieve a fresh start in their new home. In order to do this, GROW South Dakota partnered with the Sisseton Coteau Valley Federal Credit Union on a partnership loan. This allowed the credit union and GROW South Dakota to complete the financial package needed to begin the journey to their new home. “We can’t thank you enough, it’s great to be able to work with someone in the community”, stated Eileen Ellingson. The Ellingson’s home is currently in the final stages of completion, and sits on the land where their home previously stood, just like they had wanted.
