Staff Member Pays-It-Forward to the Roberts County 4-H Community Center
Tuesday, March 01, 2016
This month the Roberts County 4-H Community Center received its very fist donation thanks to GROW South Dakota’s Pay-It-Forward initiative. GROW South Dakota has been helping communities for fifty years and to celebrate each staff member and NESDCAP board member has been given $50 to donate to a community organization.
Sandy Leiseth, a GROW South Dakota Housing Officer, made the first donation to the Roberts County 4-H Community Center building fund. Leiseth, formerly the Roberts County Extension Educator/Agriculture/Youth (from September 1991 to November 2000) matched the Pay-It-Forward donation with personal $50 donation. Leiseth said, “I am passionate about the project and would like to challenge former extension employees, extension board members, 4-H leaders, and 4-H members to pay-it-forward too. Any help to get this project off the ground is appreciated”.
The new building will be located west of the existing 4-H structure in Roberts County. It will include a multipurpose room, bathroom and full kitchen with outside access. It will be a fully-functioning building to accommodate the area communities’ needs. Donations for the project can be mailed to Roberts County 4-H Leaders Assn., 411 2 Ave E, Suite 14A, Sisseton, SD 57262.
