Staff Pay-It-Forward to Sisseton Youth Baseball Association
Thursday, April 21, 2016
GROW South Dakota has been helping communities for fifty years and to celebrate each staff and board member has been given $50 to donate to a community organization. This month the Sisseton Youth Baseball Association received a $150 donation as part of GROW South Dakota’s Pay-It-Forward initiative.
Three employees (Cory Peterson, weatherization installer, Jared Groos, loan officer, and Wade Veflin, housing loan officer) donated a combined $150 to the Sisseton youth baseball association. The youth baseball association serves to support both the existing area youth baseball teams and to revitalize the Sisseton baseball field. “The association has made a number of improvements to the existing baseball field including the purchasing of new equipment and batting cages. Long term, we would like to make some additional improvements along with the building of two new youth fields and a parking lot,” said Wade Veflin, treasure of the baseball association.
“We value our staff and the passion they have for the communities we serve. This Pay-It-Forward event is a small token of our appreciation toward all of the local organizations that make communities better places to live and work,” said GROW South Dakota CEO Marcia Erickson.
Additional donations to support the Sisseton youth baseball association can be mailed to P.O. Box 146, Sisseton, SD 57262.
