GROW South Dakota Pays-It-Forward to the Aberdeen Library Project

Wednesday, May 18, 2016

Forward-thinking communities need places to think. Information is more valuable than ever these days, and libraries still remain one of the best places for people of all ages and all means to have access to information. In Aberdeen, the community is moving forward with a project to build a 21st century library. The project is a recipient of a $50 donation from GROW South Dakota’s Pay-It-Forward initiative.

GROW South Dakota has been helping communities for fifty years, and to celebrate that milestone, each staff member and board member has received $50 to donate to a community organization. Patrick Gallagher, GROW South Dakota resource development director, chose to support the library project because it will offer everyone a chance to learn more, whether it’s about a job or a business opportunity, a new technology or an old philosophy, the latest movie or a classical symphony, and in a place designed for the way people consume information today.

“We value our board members and staff and the passion they have for the communities we serve. This Pay-It-Forward event is a small token of our appreciation toward all of the local organizations that make communities better places to live and work,” said GROW South Dakota CEO Marcia Erickson.
