Family Crisis Center Receives Pay-It-Forward Donation
Wednesday, May 18, 2016
GROW South Dakota has been helping communities for fifty years and to celebrate each staff and board member has been given $50 to donate to a community organization. The Family Crisis Center in Redfield received a $50 donation as part of GROW South Dakota’s Pay-It-Forward initiative.
Mark Nelson, a GROW South Dakota loan officer, matched it with a personal $50 donation for a combined $100 donation. The Family Crisis Center is a non-profit corporation that provides education, awareness, and temporary housing for domestic violence and assault victims in Spink, Faulk, and Hand Counties. Since completion of the facility in August of 2013, the center has received 930 calls and has provided 756 bed days – that is 756 times a head has hit a pillow.
“We value our staff and the passion they have for the communities we serve. This Pay-It-Forward event is a small token of our appreciation toward all of the local organizations that make communities better places to live and work,” said GROW South Dakota CEO, Marcia Erickson.
