AmeriCorps Volunteers for GROW South Dakota

Recently, GROW South Dakota acquired a rural farmstead located six miles from Milbank, South Dakota.   Several individuals from AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) provided volunteer time to help with improvements to the property.  The tasks included the cleaning up of debris around the property and painting. 


AmeriCorps is a team-based national service program that is made up of teams of 8-12 young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 who are lead by a team leader and travel across the country for ten months partnering with tribes, nonprofits and government agencies.  During these visits they complete projects in the areas of disaster relief, energy conservation, environment, infrastructure improvement and urban and rural development.
