Sisseton Area Partners for Progress Receive Pay-It-Forward Donation

Successful communities depend on volunteers who care about their hometowns and make things happen. Sisseton Area Partners for Progress (SAPP) is made up of those people. It is a civic/community club that raises money for school and community projects and does several community service projects. SAPP is a recipient of a $150 donation from GROW South Dakota’s Pay-It-Forward initiative.
GROW South Dakota has been helping communities for fifty years, and to celebrate that milestone, each staff member and board member has received $50 to donate to a community organization. Three GROW SD staff members—NESDCAP Finance Director LeAnn Glynn, Project Director and IDA Statewide Coordinator Maureen Nelson, and Fiscal Support Associate Joan Rice—chose to support SAPP because it has made such contributions to Sisseton as the following: buying, planting and watering the flowers at Veterans Avenue Park and at the high school sign (SAPP helped get the digital sign); helping to get the signs for the civic organizations on the Veterans Avenue welcome sign; helping fund and organize getting the senior citizens building painted and spruced up; donating to the scoreboard at Brewster/Gunderson Field; and contributing to the wall pads in the Ben Reifel gymnasium, among many other ways of supporting their community.
“We value our board members and staff and the passion they have for the communities we serve. This Pay-It-Forward event is a small token of our appreciation toward all of the local organizations that make communities better places to live and work,” said GROW South Dakota CEO Marcia Erickson.
