GROW SD Part of South Dakota Gives
Tuesday, November 06, 2018
GROW South Dakota is participating in the inaugural South Dakota Gives, an online offshoot of the national Giving Tuesday program to promote philanthropy. On November 27, 2018, the statewide project hopes to drive South Dakotans (and others) to support their favorite nonprofit. GROW SD is one of more than 300 organizations profiled on the site and set up to receive online donations. Visit GROW SD’s profile to make a donation.
Giving Tuesday started in 2012. Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it’s aimed to kick off the charitable season when many people focus on their holiday giving and end-of-the-year charitable donations. South Dakota Gives was created to focus state’s philanthropic energy on nonprofit organizations that do good work here at home. In addition to promoting philanthropy, South Dakota Gives is offering a variety of prizes for participating nonprofits.
GROW SD is promoting South Dakota Gives and encouraging its supporters to help. Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter, share our posts about South Dakota Gives with your friends, tell them why GROW SD is important to you, and, on November 27, visit our donation page and make a contribution!
Gifts to GROW SD make a difference:
• $100 is the cost of food boxes to feed a family for two weeks
• $500 helps a family make a down payment to purchase a house
• $1,000 helps a small business hire a new worker
• $5,000 helps train local community and economic development staff
All donations make a difference and are appreciated. (Dollar amounts are for illustration purposes only. Donations are used to support areas of most need.)
