NESDCAP Elects New Board Officers

Deb Anderson is taking on the leadership role as Chair of the Northeast South Dakota Community Action Program (NESDCAP), Board of Directors. Tom Farber, previous board chairman, has served as the board chairman for 20 years and will continue to serve as a board member.


Tom Farber has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for NESDCAP since 1996. Tom’s leadership skills have successfully lead the NESDCAP board and business ventures, volunteer activities, and community development projects. Tom is highly respected for his knowledge of housing, community and economic development and is always looking for new opportunities that will improve the quality of life for residents of his community.  NESDCAP will continue to utilize his expertise on the board.


Deb Anderson is a small business owner in Roberts County and has served on the NESDCAP board of directors since 2010.  She is currently serving on NESDCAP’s Excellence in Governance Team. Deb was instrumental in leading the NESDCAP board to apply for the Excellence in Governance national program which is providing the entire board with an 18-month customized leadership development initiative that focuses on real issues in real time.

A Half-Century of Serving South Dakotans

In 1978, NESDCAP created the Northeast South Dakota Economic Corporation (NESDEC) as a revolving loan fund to focus on small business lending and job creation in 22 counties. In 2007, Grow South Dakota, was formed to provide housing, community and economic development statewide. Through services to individuals, technical assistance to community and economic development agencies, and loans to small businesses and homebuyers, GROW South Dakota has had broad and lasting impact.
