Small Business Week Highlights GROW SD Economic Development
Wednesday, April 27, 2016
The U.S. Small Business Administration announced that May 1-7 is National Small Business Week featuring the theme “Dream Big, Start Small.”
Supporting small business has been an integral part of GROW South Dakota’s economic development focus for 50 years. Since it launched in 1966, GROW SD has invested over $64.4 million in small businesses across South Dakota. Through 2015, nearly 2,000 new and existing businesses have received small business loans from GROW, and these investments have helped create or maintain nearly 11,500 jobs. Loans have primarily supported companies in the service, retail, and wholesale sectors as well as several dozen small manufacturing firms.
Every year since 1963 SBA has taken the opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from across the nation through National Small Business Week.
