Capital For A Day Invitations
Monday, April 07, 2014
Gov. Dennis Daugaard is extending an invitation to communities across the state to apply to be South Dakota’s Capital for a Day.
Activities for the day will include a main street walk, business tours around town and a social hour. The Governor will also hold a roundtable lunch for community leaders to meet and discuss the needs of the city.
“I look forward to meeting South Dakotans in their home towns,” Gov. Daugaard said. “It’s a unique opportunity for me to get to know them, find out what issues are on their minds and discuss the future. I want to thank communities in advance for agreeing to host the Capital for a Day program.”
Since 2011, Capital for a Day has been hosted by Mitchell, Canton, Onida, Volga, Hill City, Britton, De Smet, Viborg, Aberdeen and Lead-Deadwood.
Interested communities should fill out an application and submit it to the Governor’s Office. For more information, contact Kris Erickson at 605.773.3661 or Kris.Erickson@state.sd.us.
