Keeping a Veteran Warm

Thursday, February 20, 2020

Main News Photo

Veteran Delbert Maxfield doesn’t like to be cold, especially with his health issues. But when their furnace went on the blink, cold is exactly what he felt. He and his wife Carol wanted to continue living in their home, but since they only had Social Security income, they were not sure they could afford to replace or repair their old furnace. Hearing of their plight, Dustin from GROW South Dakota informed them of a Veteran’s program that could assist them. “Without this program and the help of Dustin, we would never have known of this grant,” explained Carol.

Through the Veteran’s program, they were able to get a new furnace installed promptly. During this cold South Dakota winter, the Maxfields can now enjoy their warm and happy home.
