A Place to Call Home

When Tasha brings in foster children, she knows the children need a safe place to call home, if only for a short time. It was hard for her to call her rental place home when it really wasn’t hers. She dreamed of purchasing a place to call her own, a home that she could welcome others into during their time of need.

That’s when she started doing her research, as she knew she wouldn’t be able to afford a house through a bank without a down payment. After hearing about GROW South Dakota’s homeownership programs, Tasha decided to reach out to them, to see if any of these programs would be a good fit for her.    They were able to help her with her a loan, down payment, and closing costs. Tasha explained, “I now have a more convenient place for when I get calls to take kiddos in.”
