GROW South Dakota launches new Digital Literacy program

GROW South Dakota has released a new program called Digital Literacy. In this program, GROW South Dakota is offering FREE options to renew or expand your knowledge of the digital world. There are multiple courses to fit a variety of needs and we can also work with you on a one-on-one basis, if you prefer.
Online education is provided through the NorthStar program, which offers classes on Basic Computer Skills, Internet Basics, Using Email, Windows, Mac OS, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Docs, Social Media, Information Literacy, and Career Search Skills. These classes are self-paced and can be retaken if needed. If you would like a certificate GROW South Dakota can proctor the test at the end of the course.
GROW South Dakota also offers community classes, such as How to Video Call, Navigate your Cell Phone, Identify the Scams, and more!
There is assistance available to help with internet costs, you may qualify if you meet one of the following qualifications: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps, Medicaid, Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA) (including Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program (Section 8 Vouchers), Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA)/202/811, Public Housing, and Affordable Housing Programs for American Indians, Alaska Natives or Native Hawaiians), Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit, Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch Program or School Breakfast Program, including at U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Community Eligibility Provision schools, or Received a Federal Pell Grant in the current award year.
