Ipswich Community Economic Development's Image

Ipswich has a rich history that began over 100 years ago with the coming of the railroad. The town has grown into an agricultural community. The 1000 residents have strong values and the hard work ethic that came west with their pioneer ancestors. Ipswich, the county seat of Edmunds County, is only 25 minutes from the third largest city in South Dakota - Aberdeen. Located at the junction of US Highway 12 and SD Highway 45, Ipswich is only 100 miles from Interstate 29 to the east and Interstate 90 to the south. The school system has been honored for excellence and there are plenty of opportunities for recreation. We invite you to come visit Ipswich!
