At the South Dakota Community Foundation (SDCF) we care about one thing - South Dakota. In particular, we care about the people and future of our state. For over twenty years we have been working for South Dakotans by supporting and encouraging philanthropy.

Connecting Donors and Charities for a Stronger South Dakota

SDCF is a non-profit organization which administers a $135 million dollar endowment fund, made up of private gifts from individuals, families and businesses.

We serve two groups in our quest to make South Dakota a better place.

Donors: We help make the charitable giving process easier and more effective by setting up funds and managing charitable gifts.
Non-profits: Our partnerships with charitable organizations allow us to meet the needs of South Dakotans today and ensure their success in the future.

The Mission of the South Dakota Community Foundation is:

A Half-Century of Serving South Dakotans

For more than half a century, the three nonprofit organizations comprising GROW South Dakota have fulfilled a vision of “GROWing sustainable communities through housing, community and economic development.” In 1966 the Northeast South Dakota Community Action Program (NESDCAP) was established as a Community Action Agency in the War on Poverty and has served thousands in 17 counties with emergency services as well as various housing programs.
