Regional Economic Developers Roundtable

The next Regional Economic Development Roundtable quarterly meeting will be held Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Lake Area Technical Institute beginning at 10 a.m. in Room 512, Building 5. This regional group is growing and now includes rural community representatives from throughout Eastern South Dakota. The 30+ community representatives that regularly attend these quarterly meetings find them to be extremely valuable due to the sharing of housing, community, and economic development resources, peer-to-peer relationship building, and learning opportunities that are provided. The afternoon session will include a Governor's Office of Economic Development Request for Information Workshop from 1 - 4 p.m. Please contact Todd@1stdistrict.org to register.

A Half-Century of Serving South Dakotans

For more than half a century, the three nonprofit organizations comprising GROW South Dakota have fulfilled a vision of “GROWing sustainable communities through housing, community and economic development.” In 1966 the Northeast South Dakota Community Action Program (NESDCAP) was established as a Community Action Agency in the War on Poverty and has served thousands in 17 counties with emergency services as well as various housing programs.
